Feed the Brain

Raising funds for your school has never been easier or more nourishing. Area 2 Farms’ new, on-going fundraiser supports your family’s health, your child’s school, and your local community.

Buzz Aldrin Elementary School is part of the Feed the Brain fundraiser.

How does the Feed the Brain fundraiser work?

It couldn’t be simpler: Any time a member of your school community (parent, teacher, friend, or neighbor) makes a purchase from Area 2 Farms, your school gets $25. If you purchase a four-week subscription to try us out, your school gets $25. If you say, “Hey, I love this and want to keep it going,” your school gets $25 every time you renew or auto-renew.

The important thing to remember is that the purchase has to be made through the Feed the Brain purchase pag.

Area 2 Farms grows and delivers locally-grown, USDA certified organic produce at our farm in Arlington, VA. Each week, we harvest items from five categories: greens, microgreens, herbs, root vegetables, and specialty items. You can see what we’re delivering this week and other Harvest Menus here.

When you purchase one of our vegetable delivery options, you earn money for your school. And at the end of every fiscal quarter, Area 2 Farms sends your school or school program a check!

Who benefits from Feed the Brain?

  • First: You benefit when you make high quality, nutrient-dense vegetables part of your everyday diet. Our greens, microgreens, herbs, and root vegetables are almost absurdly easy to add to your meals, and your skin, microbiome, and baseline energy levels will thank you.

  • Second: If you have children, it’s never too early to introduce them to organic vegetables. We might think of our kids as resilient sponges who can eat whatever they want without consequence, but more and more research points to how much more vulnerable they are than adults to toxins, chemicals, and additives.

  • Third: Your school. PTAs, band boosters, and school programs need funds to operate, pure and simple. Feed the Brain gives them a sustainable, year-round way to consistently draw in funds.

  • Fourth: Organic farms FTW! Small and sustainable farms are critical to our future. The more we support responsible farming practices, the more they will grow.

What is the school’s obligation?

The school has zero financial or logistical obligation. However, fundraising initiatives succeed when goals are established and communication is consistent. If your community sees that you’re raising funds for field trips, school supplies, new signage, or team uniforms, they’re more likely to rally behind that shared cause.

We’re dedicated to helping our partner schools succeed. We supply you with a media kit to help you spread the word to your community and work with you to launch campaigns for your Feed the Brain fundraiser.
