Area 2 Farms Local Organic Harvest for the Week of 19 December 2022
The first week of our winter season
Sweet Mix
A mix of green crystal lettuce, baby red beet leaf, and fennel. Our mix is high in vitamins C, A, and K and helps to fight inflammation. Try making a salad with candied nuts.
Holiday Mix
A mix of cabbage micro-greens red amaranth, which is a great way to get some holiday colors onto your plates this week. It pairs well with grains, proteins, citrus, and cheese. It's great to use as a substitute for lettuce. Try it on top of everything.
Sunflower Shoots
A simple nutty flavor and wonderful texture. “Sunnies” are nothing short of incredible in everything. They pack in essential nutrients like vitamins A, C, E, K, and B6 as well as folate, iron, protein, omega-3s, and omega-6s.
Za’atar Combo
oregano + marjoram + lemon thyme

Chamomile
Enjoy the chamomile by simply adding hot water and a squeeze of lemon. Chamomile contains anti-inflammatory properties, soothes cold symptoms, and is good for sleep.
Candy Cane Beets
Once beets are cooked, your possibilities for using them are vast. You can use cooked beets in salads, to make hummus, or to blend into smoothies, don't knock it until you try it. They can be diced for slaw, quartered for a grain bowl, or mashed to make a dip or spread. It is a great source of fiber and increases exercise performance.
