Lamiaceae Family
The Lamiaceae or the Mint family is a diverse group of flowering plants which includes over 7,000 species. These plants are characterized by having square stems, opposite leaves and small flowers topped with two lips.
Many herbs like basil, oregano, sage, mint, thyme and lavender belong to this group. In addition, mint, rosemary, sage and catnip are commonly used spices from this family.
