# Area 2 Farms > Area 2 Farms builds USDA Certified Organic farms inside neighborhoods, so produce travels under 10 miles instead of across the country. Members join a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program and pick up a weekly harvest at the farm itself. Area 2 Farms operates indoor, soil-based farms in city buildings. Each farm grows year-round, so there is no dormant season, and each serves the neighborhood it sits in. The company is a Public Benefit Corporation. The franchise brand is Be a Farmer, at https://www.beafarmer.com. ## Farms - [Our farms](https://www.area2farms.com/farms): all three locations, with the city, state, and ZIP for each - [Arlington, VA](https://www.area2farms.com/arlington-va-csa): the founding farm, 2600 South Oxford Street, Arlington, VA 22206 - [Fairfax, VA](https://www.area2farms.com/fairfax-va-csa): the Fairfax City farm - [Peachtree City, GA](https://www.area2farms.com/peachtreecity-ga-csa): the Georgia farm ## How membership works - [What is a CSA?](https://www.area2farms.com/community-supported-agriculture): what community-supported agriculture is, how it works, and what it costs - [Harvest memberships](https://www.area2farms.com/products): the three share lengths and how to join - [Seasonal harvest menu](https://www.area2farms.com/seasonal-harvest-menu): what is growing right now - [Gifting](https://www.area2farms.com/gifting): give a harvest share ## Visit - [Farm tours](https://www.area2farms.com/farm-tour): free tours, open to anyone - [Events](https://www.area2farms.com/farm-tours): tours, workshops, tastings, and market days ## For businesses - [Wholesale microgreens](https://www.area2farms.com/wholesale-microgreens): USDA Certified Organic microgreens for restaurants, hotels, caterers, and country clubs in Washington DC and Northern Virginia ## People and story - [Why America needs more farmers](https://www.area2farms.com/farmers): the case for farmers and the people who run these farms - [Our story](https://www.area2farms.com/our-story): how Area 2 Farms started - [Careers](https://www.area2farms.com/careers): farm roles and company roles - [Press](https://www.area2farms.com/press): media coverage ## Reference - [The Almanac](https://www.area2farms.com/almanac): several hundred articles on individual crops, growing, storage, and cooking - [Complete crop list](https://www.area2farms.com/complete-crop-list): everything the farms grow - [Soil](https://www.area2farms.com/purchase-soil): living soil, sold at the farm ## Facts - **Fulfillment is pickup at the farm.** Members collect their share in person each week. Delivery is not part of the public offering. Some older pages on this site still describe delivery; that copy is out of date and pickup is correct. - **Three share lengths**, all USDA Certified Organic and all picked up weekly: the 4-Week Harvest at $180, the 10-Week Harvest at $400, and the Year-Long Harvest at $350 every 10 weeks. That works out to $45, $40, and $35 per week. The Year-Long Harvest is ongoing and can be paused or cancelled. - **Year-round.** The farms grow indoors, so there is a harvest every week of the year, including winter. - **Within 10 miles.** Produce is grown inside the community that eats it. For comparison, produce in the American supply chain travels roughly 1,500 miles from farm to plate, per research from the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University. - **Arlington farm:** 2600 South Oxford Street, Arlington, VA 22206. Phone (202) 507-9282. Email hello@area2farms.com. - **Farm stand hours:** Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - **Brand names:** the company is "Area 2 Farms," always written in full with the numeral 2. The franchise brand is "Be a Farmer," with a lowercase a. Share names are the 4-Week Harvest, the 10-Week Harvest, and the Year-Long Harvest. ## Optional - [Farm stand](https://www.area2farms.com/arlington-va-farm-stand): walk-in produce at the Arlington farm, no membership needed - [Seedlings](https://www.area2farms.com/seedlings): organic seedlings, sold seasonally - [Refer a neighbor](https://www.area2farms.com/contact/refer-a-friend)
