Fresh Dill Popcorn
Americans love popcorn. In fact, they eat about 17 million quarts of it a year. Serious popcorn consumers may want to keep it simple, but for the more adventurous, we have a simple way to elevate America’s favorite snack.
Here's an easy and delicious recipe for Fresh Dill Popcorn using either stovetop or microwave popcorn.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup popcorn kernels (or 1 bag of plain microwave popcorn)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
Salt, to taste
Stovetop Instructions:
Pop the Kernels:
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add a few popcorn kernels to test the oil. Once they pop, add the remaining kernels, cover the pot, and shake occasionally to prevent burning.
When popping slows to 2-3 seconds between pops, remove from heat.
Mix the Dill Butter:
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the fresh dill.
Combine:
Pour the dill butter over the popcorn, toss to coat evenly, and season with salt to taste.
Microwave Instructions:
Pop the Popcorn:
Pop 1 bag of plain microwave popcorn according to the package instructions.
Mix the Dill Butter:
In a small bowl, combine melted butter and fresh dill.
Combine:
Pour the dill butter over the popped popcorn and toss to coat. Add salt to taste.
