Area 2 Farms is excited to host our next event in the Future of Food Systems series where we explore topics related to the source of our food, discuss how our current food system is changing, and learn about local food production.

This upcoming panel will focus broadly on the human outcomes of eating locally-grown and sourced food, explored through a discussion with local food advocates.

Future of Food Systems Panelists

Our panelists are local business owners who have incredible insights into how local food is distributed in our area. You’ll hear from:

• Kristof Grina of Uptop Acres, an urban greening project that connects communities to food and helps property managers achieve ESG goals.

• Cullen Gilchrist of Union Kitchen, a business accelerator that promotes local food companies.

• Ellis Singer McCue of Territory Foods, a healthy meal delivery service employing local DC chefs.

We’ll discuss how and why they started their businesses and what their personal connection to local food is. We’ll also speak about how engaging with local food builds community and supports the local economy.
