Kale Mix

White & Red Russian Kale

This kale mix is hearty, frilly, and has a sweeter, peppery flavor. Antioxidant and fiber rich kale can be crisped into crunchy snacks in the oven, used for the base of a salad or pesto, and can liven up anything that’s hot off the grill. We’ve moved the farm to your neighborhood to bring you nutritious superfood favorites like this perfectly mixed kale.

Broccoli Microgreens

A classic superfood at any size, broccoli microgreens are bright and earthy, with a distinct flavor that makes them usable in a number of seasonal recipes. And these vitamin-packed micros are up to 40 times more nutritious than the full-sized broccoli trees. Try them on avocado toast, in a panini, or serve with grilled meat. We love them atop pasta or stew!

Mirepoix

Rainbow Carrots, Celery, Onions

A farm favorite is back! Mirepoix (pronounced meer-pwah) is a traditional French recipe of diced celery, carrots, and onions. This versatile mix makes a culinary base for autumn stews, nutritious broths, and gumbo. Micronutrients, digestive enhancing fiber, and vitamin C make an aromatic combo of medicinal local food

Traditionally diced into small cubes and slowly cooked in healthy fat (butter or oil) over low to medium heat for a base, you can grill mirepoix, or use it in place of a bed of rice or add to quinoa. For more information, read our mirepoix crop guide.

Dill

What’s the dill with this flavorful, aromatic herb? Stay out of a pickle with this week’s dill — it can help you with appetizers, sauces, meat flavoring, and salads. It’s not just the taste that adds to your meal — dill is an herbal medicine that soothes tummies and strengthens bones.

Dill deepens flavors of grilled or baked fish, is useful in a variety of Mediterranean dishes, and pairs well with light fare like cucumbers, chickpeas, and sour cream. Anywhere you can add citrus, you can add an extra flavor dimension with dill! One of our favorite recipes is a family crowd pleaser: make a quick and savory pasta sauce with butter, oil, lemon, and dill.
