Engage Your Community with Area 2 Farms

What better way to connect people to the local food system than by hosting an Area 2 Farms event? At Area 2 Farms, we design interactive programs that bring farming, food, and community together. Each event is rooted in education and experience, offering participants a chance to learn more about where their food comes from while having fun along the way.

Taste of the Farm

At this event, guests sample a variety of our seasonal harvest — everything from crisp greens and fragrant herbs to unexpected crops that spark curiosity. Alongside the tasting, we share stories about how each crop is grown and ways to use them at home. It’s an approachable way for people to experience the diversity of our farm in a single setting.

The Herbal Experience

Herbs have been used for centuries for their flavor, health benefits, and cultural significance. In this workshop, we explore their origins, uses, and practical applications in everyday life. Participants smell, touch, and taste a range of fresh herbs before ending with a relaxing tea time or herbal-infused water, highlighting how simple and enjoyable these plants can be to incorporate into daily routines.

Cooking with Chef Molly

Food tastes better when you know the story behind it. Farmer-chef Molly brings her dual perspective as both a grower and a cook to her classes. She walks participants through simple, delicious recipes that showcase what’s in season on the farm, sharing cooking tips while connecting the meal back to the soil it grew from. These classes are hands-on, approachable, and always end with something tasty to enjoy together.

Farm Tours

There’s no better way to understand farming than by stepping inside the farm itself. On our tours, visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at how we grow food year-round in soil, learn about the technology that helps us farm efficiently, and meet the farmers who make it all happen. Tours are interactive, family-friendly, and designed to leave people with a new appreciation for how food makes its way from seed to plate. Check out our upcoming tour schedule or set up your own private tour to visit the farm.

Farm Talks and Presentations

At Area 2 Farms, our team is made up of farmers and specialists with expertise across many aspects of agriculture. We enjoy sharing that knowledge through talks and presentations tailored to different audiences. In the past, we’ve led sessions on topics such as soil health, nutrition, and the history of agriculture, but we’re always open to new ideas. Whether it’s a classroom, community group, or professional gathering, we can design a talk that fits your audience and sparks meaningful conversation about food and farming.
