Last week of our Winter Season

St. Patrick’s Day Harvest!

Arugula

For the last week of our winter season, we harvested peppery and crispy arugula, which works well raw and cooked. You can roll it into a pasta or pair it with this week’s shoots and purple shamrock to make a citrusy salad with a little kick. Arugula will add to the health of your gut and aid in your digestion while providing vital vitamins and minerals.

Microgreen Mix

A Mix of Peas, Sunnies and Radish Shoots

With this week’s crunchy shoot mix, you have sweet and grassy pea shoots, mild and nutty sunflower shoots, and peppery radish shoots. It’s a fantastic flavor combo, making it easy to incorporate nutrient-rich greens into any snack or meal. To keep your shoots fresh, rinse and let dry; you can wrap them in a paper towel to keep moisture away before you refrigerate them.

Parsley

This week’s herb is so commonly used as a garnish, but it is so much more. Parsley is a bright green versatile herb that is high in antioxidants and vitamin C, so know that when you add it raw to salads and dressings or to heighten flavors in sauces or marinades, you are contributing to your overall well-being. And don’t shy away from using the stems - they add additional flavor and crunch. You can rinse your parsley and store in the refrigerator wrapped in a paper towel to keep it fresh for the week.

Radish

This week’s radish roots are nutrient-rich, slightly spicy and crisp. Their flavor pairs well with a variety of ingredients like butter, citrus fruits, avocado and leafy greens, as well as fresh herbs like this week’s parsley or dill. You can tone down the pungency of a radish by pickling or pan frying sliced radishes. And don’t forget to eat the radish greens; they’re delicious! Here you’ll find more facts about radishes and how to prepare yours this week.

Purple shamrock

This popular plant, with its vibrant, purple leaves add a pop of color to homes and gardens. But you can actually eat the entire plant - leaves and stems. Now don’t go foraging in people’s gardens for your edible flowers - the frequent use of harmful pesticides makes it unsafe. We grow and deliver certified organic purple shamrock that you can trust. It has a citrusy, earthy flavor which will make your salads, cocktails and desserts this week quite special
