What is the Valentine’s Blend?

The Valentine’s Blend combines two kinds of microgreens: amaranth and cabbage. Harvested at their peak, they deliver a mild, earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness and spice. Amaranth microgreens, part of the Amaranthaceae family, are known for their striking magenta color and delicate texture. Amaranth has been cultivated for thousands of years, dating back to the Aztecs, who valued it as a staple crop for its resilience and nutritional benefits.

Cabbage microgreens, belonging to the Brassica family, share their lineage with other cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale, and mustard. They bring a crisp, mild pepperiness and bright green color, along with a good dose of antioxidants. Together, these microgreens create a visually appealing, nutrient-dense mix that adds both beauty and bold flavor to your dishes.

How to Prepare the Valentine’s Blend

Using the Valentine’s Blend is as simple as rinsing them gently under cool water and patting them dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Their tender texture makes them ready to eat without any additional preparation. Use them as a garnish, or incorporate them into recipes for an added boost of flavor, color, and nutrients.

5 Ways to use Valentine’s Blend

  • Savory Bowls: Toss into grain bowls or atop roasted vegetables for a freshlayer.

  • Smoothies: Blend a handful into your morning smoothie.

  • Soups: Use as a finishing touch for soups, where the microgreens wilt slightly but retain their vibrant color.

  • Tacos: Swap out traditional lettuce for these microgreens to add a peppery flavor.

  • Egg Dishes: Scatter over scrambled eggs, omelets, or frittatas to elevate a simple breakfast.

Valentine’s Blend Health Benefits

Amaranth is rich in vitamins A and C, promoting healthy skin and immune function, while cabbage microgreens are packed with antioxidants, including sulforaphane, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties. Both microgreens are excellent sources of fiber and plant-based phytonutrients, supporting overall wellness and adding a nutrient-dense element to any meal.Superfoods Blend Facts
