Asian greens
Our Asian greens blend combines crispy baby bok choy with slightly peppery mizuna lettuces to make a unique flavor combo for your week’s greens. You can use this blend as you would any lettuce or green - raw or slightly sautéed. If you want to try something new, make these simple spring rolls.
Broccoli microgreens
Not to be confused with sprouts which germinate from soaked seeds, these microgreens grow directly in soil, and are harvested just when the first leaves emerge, well before the plant matures. Why do we pick them then? Because broccoli microgreens are up to 40 times more nutritious than full-sized broccoli. They add depth and crunch to any meal that can use a raw, earthy and nutritious component. Their ease-of-use and nutrient-density make incorporating them into your life daily a no-brainer.
Oregano and thyme
Using fresh oregano and thyme to cook this week will have anyone who enters your kitchen saying, “Why does it smell so good in here?” Fresh herbs have more flavor, stronger aroma and more versatility than dried. Both members of the mint family, oregano and thyme pair well together - oregano is earthy and slightly peppery; while thyme is slightly sweet, nutty and a little minty. Combine them to season vegetables, meats, sauces and soups.
Leeks
Our leeks are thinner and more delicate than a typical leek without missing any of the flavor. In fact, because our leeks are thin, they lack the fibrousness and bitterness of typical leeks, and can be used raw or cooked. Leeks, like their garlic and onion family members, are prebiotic foods, which improve the health of your gut. This week, try this simple roasted leeks recipe for a fresh, flavorful and healthy side dish.
Frosted peppermint
Our frosted peppermint is fresh, minty and good-looking - it has bright green and white leaves. Peppermint is known for its digestive benefits, so steeping it in boiling water and making tea is a perfect post-meal ritual. It’s also great for your skin - the menthol can help balance hormones and reduce excess sebum to reduce skin inflammation. With its sweet, minty flavor, you can also try frosted peppermint in salads or savory dishes to add a bright surprise.
