Third Week of Spring Season 2024
Asian Blend
Our Asian greens blend combines crispy baby bok choy with slightly peppery mizuna lettuces to make a unique flavor combo for a delicious springtime greens mix. You can use this blend as you would any lettuce or green - raw or slightly sautéed. If you want to try something new, make these simple spring rolls.
Radish shoots
You’ll enjoy the slightly spicy radish shoots this week, as they’ll add a kick to most dishes, as well as a vibrant splash of color. Radish shoots’ flavor will be reminiscent of radish roots, but much milder; they are very crispy which is why they are great, whether raw or slightly sautéed, to add texture to meals. They are also a good source of fiber and vitamin C.
Kohlrabi microgreens
Kohlrabi microgreens have a mild, mustard-like flavor with a hint of sweetness. They are slightly peppery but less intense than mature tatsoi leaves. Their texture is tender and delicate, with crisp, succulent stems and tender leaves. Loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, these microgreens can be used in salads, smoothies or stir fries - think raw or slightly cooked and added to anything that needs some more nutrition or a flavor boost.
Herb blend
You can rely on this week’s herb blend to season all of your meats and veggies, or to be used to make sauces, butters or whipped into soft cheeses. This blend is loaded with aroma and flavor. Learn more about the benefits of these herbs and what they pair well with here.
Carrots
Carrots are so versatile and healthy. This week you can add them to soups or shred them into salads or cole slaw. We love them roasted - add honey and this week’s Italian herb blend and make a supremely nutritious and delicious side dish. And don’t throw out the carrot tops! Their flavor is a bit like parsley so you can use them in a pesto or as you would any green or herb.
Buzz button and lemon verbena
Buzz buttons are little yellow flowers that give an exhilarating sensation, sometimes described as a buzzing, when you consume them. This week we combine these unique flowers with the intense lemony flavor of lemon verbena. And we love them together in this buzz button cocktail. You can also use buzz buttons to infuse oil, and lemon verbena to season dishes or make tea.
